1976 Pontiac Trans Am

It was the year before the Bandit and the Trans Am already knew it was an icon. The GTO was gone and more change was around the bend, and the TA stood tall. This is a numbers matching 4 speed car silver on black by its coding. In its present state its a nearly rust free car in running condition with original big block Pontiac 400 power plant and Muncie 4 speed transmission. The car is nearly complete and will make a great project for someone. There is still money in this one once you build it, or save thousands over buying one already completed. You can still make this one your own way!

Interior stripped to bare metal with 95% of all replacement parts now included with the car. Black vinyl has gone a very long way to freshen up the car. See the completed passenger side door in contrast with the driver’s side for a look at where this car can quickly go. Included in the sale are new seat upholstery, back shelf vinyl, head liner with backing, interior door skins, exterior door handles, window cranks, arm rests and carpet, still in the box. Console is functioning condition as are the other interior trim pieces. The only obvious piece lacking is one of the side headliner trim pieces that can be easily sourced used via eBay or new through a number of online retailers. This is essentially a 95% complete new interior.

This is one really straight car only in need of some door, trunk and hood alignment to make a great foundation for your color of choice. We were thinking candy red!

The motor cranks every time you turn the key and you can feel the deep Pontiac Growl through the new oversized diameter exhaust and headers. Not a drop of oil or other fluids in the last month this has been in my Garage. Transmission shifts deliberately and holds the gear in all four gears including reverse. Mechanically this car is not far from being daily driver ready. A quick once through on each of the major systems and you are good to go.

Two sets of snowflake rims accompany the car. The stance currently is good, though you have other options with the second set of rims. The additional set includes two 15X8 rims and two 15X9 inch rims. These are currently listed separately as well.

Multiple additional pieces including interior trim, instruments etc. One additional oil pan and numerous exterior trim pieces included as well.

The Usual Suspects:

After removal of all interior some oxidation on the passenger side has been identified. If we were completing the car, we would spring for the additional couple hundred bucks to put in new floor pans on that side. Driver’s side seems solid as does the trunk and areas around the windows. Only identifiable surface rust of note is in the bottom corner of the driver door and I have captured this spot in the pictures. The guess work and hidden surprises have been taken out of this project as everything remains visible when you come to have a look.

This car will make a nice restoration for the first one to come and get it. The

A rolling chassis will cost you $5k and this is so far beyond a mere roller. Make it what you want it to be and you will be up in value for years to come as these are appreciating fast.
