Alex and Melinda (that’s us) had the crazy idea to start an eCommerce bookstore specializing in automotive books. Alex is a car and motorcycle enthusiast and Melinda likes working with technology.

Some friends who’d been selling shop service manuals (also knows as repair manuals) and automotive specialty books were looking to retire or scale back. We were looking for something to do. With plenty of inventory available, it was a good opportunity to start our new business.

After months of planning, and a few false starts, we found a great location for our warehouse in Mill Creek, Washington State, USA. Soon 50 tons of manuals arrived. Watch the beginnings of Ethyl’s Garage in this short video:
